A Tricky Lazy Student
Eko was a junior high
school student. He was in grade three at that time. He was lazy but tricky. He
seldom studied his lessons but he always passed the test given by his teachers.
He seldom followed his teachers’ suggestion. When his teachers asked him to
study, he just said ‘yes sir, I will’, but he did not study at all. It was very
useless to suggest the boy like him. He just counted on his friends’ help when
he got problem with his lessons.
Some day later there was
an announcement of final examination. The teachers announced that the exam was
at hand. Knowing that, he got confused. He did not have any confident to face
the test. He knew his ability himself that he just counted on his friends when
he got the tests. He was also afraid of doing the same thing when he was
getting tests. He was afraid of cheating his friends because the tests’
supervisor was not from his school. It was from the other schools. He wanted to
look for the key of the tests but he was afraid he would not get it. He was
really upset at that time.
Realizing about it, he
tried to study. All days he spent his time studying his lessons. However, every
time he tried to read his lesson books, he always slept. He went to the
internet to look for the materials related to his exam but he played the game
in it. He forgot his intention because he liked playing game better than
studying his lessons. He tried to call one of his friends and ask for the keys
of the tests. He said that he would pay how much it was, the main point he
could get the test keys. However, his friend was not sure that he would get it.
Eko got more confused and more upset.
Day by day he passed
this confusing until he got the exam. He was really upset. He could not answer
the tests at all instead of waiting from his friends’ help. An hour had passed
but there was no any number of the tests he answered. Therefore, he decided to
cheat his friends surrounding him. He held his phone to send a message to his
friends but he was sure that his friends’ phone must have been off. He wanted
to use a paper but he could not find any paper instead of the test sheet. He
could not use it because the supervisor in front of him would know if he used
it. He called one of his friends in front of him but his friend was afraid of
turning around him. The supervisor always watched them seriously.
Suddenly, his phone
trembled. ‘It must be a message from my friend’, he thought. It was true that
it was a key of the tests. He was relieved. He answered the test based on the
message while looking for the supervisor. After he finished answering the test,
he submitted it to the supervisor and went out. He went out happily. He called
his friend who gave him the key of the test. ‘Thanks for helping me today’, he
said. ‘You can give the key of the tests again during this exam and then you
mention how much it is’. ‘I will pay how much you want’, he said bravely.
The first day of his
exam had passed. The second day was coming and his friend sent him a key of the
test again. He enjoyed answering the test until he got problem in the third
test. When his friend sent him the key of the test, his phone rang. He forgot
to turn it off. ‘Whose phone it is?’ the supervisor asked. None of the students
in the class answered. ‘Put your phone in my desk now!’ said the supervisor. However,
none of the students told to the supervisor. Everybody was just silent and
seriously did their test. The supervisor did not ask anymore. She did not want
to bother other students to do their test but she saw all students to know
whose phone ringing.
Five minutes later,
while Eko was answering the test until number 45, the supervisor knew that he
cheated. The supervisor directly went toward him and wanted to tear Eko’s
answer sheet. ‘Wait!’ Eko said. ‘If you tear my answer sheet I will not pass
the exam and my parents will be sad’. The supervisor stopped tearing it. ‘You
must not cheat!’ the supervisor said angrily. ‘Mom, said Eko, I do not want to
see my parents sad and ashamed because of me’. ‘I am the only child that they
have’ Eko said sadly. ‘I want to see my parents smiling to see me passing the
exam’. ‘Well, Mom, said Eko, if you want my parents sad, you may tear it’. ‘I
cannot see my parents sad’ Eko sad sadly while pretending to cry. ‘I think
after you tear it, I will get out and I will go from home’. The supervisor had
a pity of him. She canceled to tear it. She just took Eko’s answer sheet and
put it in her desk. Eko directly went out and pretended to cry.
After the exam was over,
Eko met the supervisor. ‘Mom’, said Eko sadly, ‘how about my test?’ ‘Do not
worry boy!’ said the supervisor. ‘I can understand your condition’. ‘I will not
report it to any body’. The stupid supervisor was cheated by the tricky student
like him. Eko was happy and went away.
A month later, the
headmaster announced the result of the final examination. All teachers did not
believe that Eko got the best result. Every teacher complained about it. The
class turned crowded. They said that Eko must have cheated. The headmaster
asked him whether he did the test fairly or not. ‘Eko, did you do the test
yourself?’ asked the headmaster. Listening to it, Eko was shy because his
father was also there and he directly came forward. ‘My honorable teachers,
said Eko, if you do not believe me, it means you do not believe the test supervisor
either’. ‘I am confused to see you all’. ‘You are my teachers who teach me so
that I get the best result but you do not believe me’. ‘It is your hard
effort’, Eko convinced the teachers. ‘Do you teach me different materials so
that I may not get the best result?’ None of the teachers complained after Eko
said so. They just clapped hands. Every teacher was smiling and his father was
really proud of him.
How smart he was. The tricky lazy student like
him could solve his problem well. He could cheat not only the test supervisor
but also all his teachers. His cleverness in cheating made every body proud of
him.
