Interjection


Are you ever surprised? When you hear that your relatives getting an accident, what you say? Have you ever said ‘oh my god!’, ‘dear me!’? Look at the conversation below!

Jenny          : Do you know why John did not attend the class this morning, Bell?
Bello           : I heard he got an accident five days ago.
Jenny          : Oh my good! What accident he got?
Bello           : He fell down from the high tree and he broke his right leg.
                     Now, he is in the hospital. Didn’t you know it?
Jenny          : No. Nobody told me. I just hear from you.
                     How if we go to hospital to visit him?
Bello           : That's a good idea.
                     Let's get going.

You see the bold expression in the conversation above? It is an interjection.
You can use it when you are surprising. Therefore, the interjection is used to express the feeling of sadness, happiness, surprise and so on. There are many expressions that you can find easily in an English book. Now I will tell you some expressions that you can use to express your feeling. Here they are;
Goodness!
Dear me!
What a pity!
Poor you!
Wonderful!
Great!
Good!
Really!
Wow!
Excellent!
Oops!
What a beautiful lady she is!
How clever you are!
