my perspective learning English

Some learners might say that English is really a confusing subject but some might say English is not a matter at all. For me, it depends on the learners themselves how they think of English. The experience in learning English can be complicated and can be easy. But why it cannot be easy?

As we know that English is for communication and to communicate with English, we have to master the skills of communication in English. However, to master all of the skills in English as communication is not easy. We will be often faced with the difficulty in understanding it. It makes us think that English is impossible to get. So many rules and so many things that we have to memorize make English complicated.
I seldom find Indonesian English learners can master all of the English communication skills perfectly. Sometimes I find someone who can speak fluently but cannot write accurately, someone who can read fast but he is still lack of pronunciation and so on. Should it always happen to the learners of English? I think we have to look for the way to make English understandable and easier, to make us not to feel frustrated in learning it.
In my perspective learning English, I thought that English was so complicated. I seldom understood what my teacher explained and to make it worse, I often slept while my English teacher was teaching. It could cause my English teacher’s anger, of course. At that time, I would rather learn Math than English. I was really scared of being in the class if it was English class. Even Math subject was complicated but I liked. Say YES for Math and say NO for English. I thought Math subject was easy. I just needed to memorize the patterns, everything would be alright. However, now it is contrary. I like English more than Math. How come?
For me, English is so interesting and useful subject even difficult to get. Beside I can use English for answering the assignment from my teachers, I can also use English for my second language to speak to the people who are just able to speak English. The first time I thought that the use of understanding English was just for answering the question in English but the fact that I can use it for different case. I can use English more than just answering the questions. For example, I could use English to speak to the people from England when I was in Borobudur. I was really happy at that time to know that I could speak with them. It was incredible-the subject that I hated so much could help me to interact to the people from abroad. Even my English was really poor but at least the people that I met there could understand my language. I was really proud of me myself.
So I think nothing is impossible if we try to get even it is really hard.
